Blackjack card counting

Blackjack is a popular casino game that involves trying to beat the dealer by getting a hand value as close to 21 as possible without going over. Card counting is a strategy used by some players to gain an advantage over the casino by keeping track of the cards that have been dealt.

The basic idea behind card counting is that if the deck has more high cards (10, J, Q, K, A) left in it, the player has a higher chance of getting a strong hand (such as blackjack) and the dealer has a higher chance of busting. On the other hand, if the deck has more low cards (2-6), the player has a lower chance of getting a strong hand and the dealer has a lower chance of busting.

To use card counting effectively, a player must keep track of the cards that have been dealt and adjust their betting strategy accordingly. This typically involves assigning a value to each card (for example, +1 for low cards and -1 for high cards) and keeping a running count of the deck.

While card counting can be an effective strategy for increasing your chances of winning at blackjack, it is not a foolproof method and requires a lot of skill, practice, and discipline to be successful. It is also illegal in many casinos, and players caught counting cards may be asked to leave or banned from the casino.
